SyVox Speech Client
Human To Computer Interface The SyVox Speech Client provides the interface through which the user interacts with a local application or remote host (for example SyVox Logistics). The client may be operated as a speech only terminal with the terminal's display disabled or as a multi-modal client, allowing the user to interact with the terminal's display.
SyVox Speech Software
The core of the client is SyVox's speech engine independent speech recognition (ASR) and text to speech (TTS) software. Leveraging the investment of third party speech engine vendors, SyVox's speech software incorporates the filters and processing required to make speech recognition reliable in industrial environments.
Windows CE/Windows Mobile Based Software
Unlike applications running on proprietary speech terminals, the SyVox Speech Client operates on a standard Winndows CE/Windows Mobile based device. An industry standard platform, the Windows CE platform ensures that the client can take advantage of newer terminals as new hardware capabilities become available. The Windows CE platform also enables the end user to utilize the terminal for non-speech applications such as terminal emulation and web browsers, allowing a single device to be used for all of your data collection needs.
XML Based Client
Communication with the client is via XML packets. Data packets sent to the client include the instructions which allow the client to determine what should be spoken to the user, what words the user may say in response, and whether or not other data collection methods should be allowed (for example, keyboard input, bar code input, or RFID input). Data packets returned from the client contain the collected data as well as the source of that data, allowing the host application to process spoken data differently from data collected via another method if that is appropriate.
